Lunas are State Champs

The Lunas, who were supported by fans from the west side, scored the first 21 points of the game, reaching the end zone on offense, defense and special teams. Lahainaluna, which played in the state DII football final for the fourth time, won for the first time in the final. Only once before has a Maui Interscholastic League team won a state title -- King Kekaulike claimed the D-II crown in 2006. For more on the game, see “Red reigns.”
