The Hana Community Association has published a "Road to Hana Code of Conduct" as a first in its Hana Highway regulation initiative.
The Code of Conduct is available at hanahighwayregulation.com.
The code's guidelines aim to improve quality of life for residents and enhance visitor safety along the Hana Highway. The publication intends to generate industry and visitor awareness in preparation for the busy summer travel season.
An announcement of the code's availability says Hana Highway is internationally renowned for its scenic beauty that draws visitors but also creates challenges for maintaining roadway safety.
The initiative includes a resident volunteer committee to survey traffic and tourism on Hana Highway on Friday. Businesses that operate along Hana Highway are encouraged to enroll for membership with training opportunities available for commercial operators.
Residents also are urged to become members of the initiative to add their views about the development of the Hana Highway Management Plan.
