Throughout Maui, six CrossFit boxes and one gym joined in the fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The workout, which included situps, burpee pullups, overhead lunges and pushups, was created for Tavin Hashimoto, an 8-year-old Maui boy battling leukemia and wishing for a trip to Disneyland. “We want to support the local kids,” said Lisa Setiawati, co-owner of Maui CrossFit Extreme. “Lots of people showed up because it is a good cause and a fun workout. We want to spread the fitness joy to everybody.”
