Owner of bodyboard, cooler sought
The U.S. Coast Guard is asking for help from public to find the owner of a bodyboard with an attached cooler found adrift about 6 miles off of Olowalu Beach on Friday.
At 11:58 a.m., someone reported recovering the items. The bodyboard is blue and yellow, and the cooler is blue with a white top. It also had a line attached.
The Coast Guard in Honolulu issued an urgent marine advisory for mariners to watch for any signs of distress, officials said.
A crew from Maalaea Harbor launched a 45-foot rescue boat to search the area where the board and cooler were found.
There were no missing person reports, officials said.
Anyone who might be able to identify the owner of the items is asked to call Coast Guard officials in Honolulu at (808) 842-2600.
Officials recommend people identify their gear by writing their names and phone numbers on belongings.
The Coast Guard offers free "If Found" decals for placement in a visible location on small, human-powered watercraft through its Operation Paddle Smart program. The stickers are available at local harbormaster offices, through the Coast Guard Auxiliary, from Honolulu Sail and Power Squadron offices and at select marine retail and supply stores.

California woman revived by beachgoers
A California woman was revived by beachgoers after being pulled from the water off Makena Landing on Friday afternoon, a fire official said.
Officials received the call for an unresponsive woman at 12:30 p.m., said Fire Services Chief Edward Taomoto. A Wailea fire crew arrived on the scene at 12:41 p.m. to find the 57-year-old Fremont, Calif., resident breathing on her own.
Taomoto said that the woman had been snorkeling when a family member found her face-down and unresponsive in the water. She was brought to shore, where a vacationing firefighter and nurse at the beach administered CPR, with the woman regaining a pulse in less than one minute, said Taomoto.
Firefighters took over medical care until medics arrived. The woman was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition, Taomoto said.
The incident is considered a "nonfatal drowning," which is an industrywide term given to a drowning victim who has been resuscitated and has survived, according to Taomoto.

DLNR changes time for Oct. 4 hearing
The state Department of Land Natural Resources has changed the time for a public hearing Oct. 4 on a proposed amendment to commercial marine license fees and reporting deadlines for marine dealers.
The hearing will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Maui Waena Intermediate School cafeteria at 795 Onehee St. in Kahului.
The proposed amendments to Chapter 13-74 of the Hawaii Administrative Rules would increase the annual commercial license fees from the current $50 per year to $100 per year initially, then to $150 per year no sooner than Jan. 1, depending on when the rules are approved. The proposed rules also would establish a reporting deadline for dealers who buy marine life directly from commercial fishermen, according to a public notice from the DLNR.
