Plane crash on Molokai kills 2
HONOLULU (AP) — Maui County fire officials say two people died in a plane crash Sunday afternoon on Molokai.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said that the plane crashed due to “unknown circumstances” while on its way to the Molokai Airport. The airport that the plane departed from was not identified.
Kentizer said that at least two people were aboard the plane when it crashed about 4 miles west of the Molokai Airport.
Officials were notified by the Molokai air traffic control tower that communication with the plane had been lost.
The Maui Fire Department, Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
