U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, whose district includes Maui County, will host a live telephone town hall at 4 p.m. today to discuss her measure aimed at protecting the nation's election infrastructure from cyberhackers.
The bill titled "Securing America's Election Act" (H.R.5147) would require the use of voter-verified paper ballots or a paper-ballot backup in federal elections.
This conference call-style event will include an overview by Gabbard and feature Karen Hobert Flynn, executive director of Common Cause, and Brian Fox, board member of the National Association of Voting Officials.
The event will include a live question-and-answer forum.
