There will be some changes to the paratransit fares and passes beginning July 1, according to Maui Economic Opportunity, which has the Maui County contract for the transportation service.
There will be an increase from $30 to $45 for a monthly pass for disabled senior citizens 55 and older. And, there will be no monthly pass for disabled riders 54 and younger, according to MEO.
Changes and adjustments to fares and passes were made during the recent fiscal 2019 budget deliberations by Maui County Council.
Other fares will remain the same for paratransit riders, according to the county's transportation website. These include the monthly disabled students pass at $30 with valid school identification; along with a $4 daily pass for paratransit riders and a $2 per boarding fare.
