Residents have two more days to participate in early absentee voting for the general election.

Maui County has two early voting sites, one at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku and the other at the Mitchell Pauole Center conference room on Molokai. They are both open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday.

Voters are reminded to bring photo identification to the absentee polling place. On-site voter registration is available.

As of Tuesday, 2,139 people have cast votes at the Wailuku site and 304 people voted early on Molokai, said Deputy County Clerk Josiah Nishita.

Early voting began on Oct. 23.

In comparison, two years ago on Nov. 1, 2016, also on a Tuesday, 2,501 people voted in Wailuku and 321 people cast ballots on Molokai, Nishita said.

People also may register at their polling place on Election Day on Tuesday. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
