Mayor-elect to announce his choices for administration

Maui County Mayor-elect Mike Victorino will announce his choices for managing director, department heads and chief of staff at 4 p.m. today, Victorino's campaign said Sunday.
The announcements will take place at Victorino's headquarters, located at 737 Lower Main St., Suite B-2, in Wailuku.
Victorino will be the first mayor required to have his appointees approved by the Maui County Council before assuming their positions, after voters passed a charter amendment in 2016 establishing the process.
Victorino and the new council will take office on Jan. 2.
