A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon when he was found in the Waikapu Community Center, which is closed for renovation, according to police.

Shawn Magallanes was charged with second-degree burglary, resisting arrest and fourth-degree criminal property damage. His bail was set at $1,200.

Police went to the community center on East Waiko Road after a parkgoer reported seeing shattered louvers, vomit and possible movement inside at about 4:30 p.m. Magallanes was found in the kitchen area and tried to flee out the back door before he was arrested, police said.

Damage to the kitchen window was estimated at $100.
