Kihei Recycling Center will remain open during its normal business hours today despite paving work on Welakahao Road.
The road will be partially closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., but local traffic still is permitted to drop off recycling and/or redeem HI-5 bottles, plastics and cans at the center upon request. While the road may appear to be closed, residents may ask the police officer on duty to let them through the road closure, the county said.
The Kihei Recycling Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located on the corner of Piilani Highway and Welakahao Road.
