Fire causes $4M in  damages to structure

A fire caused about $4 million in damages to a Kapalua structure early Wednesday morning, according to the Maui Fire Department.

Crews received the call at 1:56 a.m. and arrived on scene to find a well-involved structure fire along Plantation Club Drive in Kapalua. They worked to control the blaze and confirmed no occupants were inside.

The fire was contained at 6:51 a.m. and extinguished at 1:30 p.m.

Damages were estimated at $4 million to the structure, which was 60 percent involved with fire. Damage estimates for the contents were unavailable, MFD said Friday.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
