Return some plantation land to Native Hawaiians

1 min read

My concern has to do with the lands that HC&S will no longer use for sugar cane production. Will they use these lands to develop hotels to boost tourism? Or will they sell some to make a profit? One can only wonder if it'll help our economy or hurt it.

In my opinion, I feel that some of these lands should go back to the native people of Hawaii nei. After all, land was never owned, yet shared between the people. We have an obligation to take care of our land just as our kupuna did before us.

"He ali'i ka 'aina, he kaua ke kanaka." The land is chief, we are its servants. "E malama 'aina kakou." We should take care of our land.
