Spirit of caring is the ‘norm’ at hospital
Why so many tears become smiles? A concoction of cheerful consent and willing effort, desired effects without waste, special skills and knowledge — a unique symphony of goodwill, efficiency and expertise! Where? The emergency room at the Maui Memorial Medical Center.
In my three visits in less than two years, helping friends, I can attest now that such positive experience is the “norm.” From the moment you check in, to answering the usual, to meeting the nurses, technicians and doctor, you realize how lucky you are.
I won’t mention names and avoid shortchanging some beautiful souls. There is that spirit of caring, making you whole again and the many genuine smiles that not only betray the 10-hour shift (if not longer) but remind you of that good side of humanity. Pono reigns!
