The news media speak of white undereducated men who continue to hold firm in their approval of Trump. It seems that slightly upward of one-third of the respondents queried throughout the country, including all demographics, educational levels, etc., remain Trump supporters.
For those who wonder, this is the proportion of adult Americans who can be fooled by symbols, lies, false appearances and one's own unthought feelings and other emotions. These are the people who project and reflect their own sense of anger, disappointment, failure and leaking illusions, and are passive reflectors of the negativity, prejudices and ignorance of others, respectively.
Poetically, many of these people have failed to materialize their dreams, accomplish their goals and gratify their desires or keep alive their hopes. Many live in the past; in imagined golden times; when, perhaps, they either possessed, or imagined that they possessed greater power, control and integration within more acceptable principles, conformity and both religious and political confirmations.
They show us how tyrants can take control of a nation and how feelings of hopelessness within one can lead to chaos, violence and impotent subversiveness.
Street-smart people, raised in big northern cities, find it difficult to believe that human beings can be so manipulable, but this is why old-time religions and one-man-rule countries feared education and favored bread and circuses for the people.
