Why would a traffic light cost more than $2 million?
In the Feb. 8 report in The Maui News on the traffic mess at the Waiale-Waiinu intersection, Nolly Yagin, a public works traffic engineer, stated the cost for a traffic signal at that location would cost between $2.2 million and $2.4 million. Could someone please explain why a traffic light could possibly cost that much? I just don’t get it.
