Maui’s Zachary Schettewi competes in the amateur division of the International Windsurfing Tour Aloha Classic on Friday at Hookipa Beach Park. The event, which crowned its pro division winners on Thursday, now moves to the amateur and masters divisions. Schettewi, who is also in the youth competition, placed second in his first-round heat with a total of 5.97. Other standouts from Friday included Maui’s Jeff Henderson, Angela Cochran and Pascal Hardy. Henderson won his amateur heat with a 9.30, while Cochran, who a day before placed third in the pro women’s competition, posted a 10.07 in her masters heat to finish just behind Hardy (11.70).
