Dec. 20–The J. Walter Cameron Center is seeking volunteers to help with managing parking at the Lahaina Civic Center for the upcoming Sentry Tournament of Champions golf tournament at the Kapalua Plantation Course. Volunteers are needed for all four days of the winners-only PGA Tour tournament — Jan. 3-6 — as well as the pro-am on Jan. 2. There are two shifts per day — 6 a.m. to noon and 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch and water will be provided. • RUNNING

Jan. 17–The Maui Oceanfront Marathon’s Free Cookie Run is scheduled for Jan. 17 at 8 a.m. at Kalama Beach Park in Kihei. The untimed fun run is about 2.8 miles long and free to enter. Runners are asked to bring cookies, donuts, bagels, fruit or a case of water to share, and old shoes to donate to the Kihei Youth Center.

Jan. 20–The Maui Oceanfront Marathon will be held on Jan. 20, starting at 5 a.m. at the Shops of Wailea and ending at Kamehameha Iki Park in Lahaina. The marathon also includes special start times for runners 55 years old and over (4:40 a.m.) and others needing extra time to finish by noon (from 3:30 to 4:30 a.m.). In addition, there is a half marathon (6:35 a.m.), 15K (6:35 a.m.) and 5K (8:30 a.m.) — those races all have starting points between Wailea and Lahaina. The entry fee is $130 (marathon), $120 (half marathon), $120 (15K), $80 (10K) and $75 (5K). Discounts available for Maui residents, active military and seniors over 60. Event registration and number pickup will be held on Jan. 18 at 2480 S. Kihei Rd., No. 28 in Kihei from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Jan. 19 at the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information and to register, visit runmaui.com or call 874-5588.

Today–Maui Preparatory Academy is seeking a head track and field coach for the 2019 season. The Maui Interscholastic League season runs from mid-February through April.
