Jesse Richman of Haiku finished second in the Red Bull King of the Air kiteboarding competition in Cape Town, South Africa, last week.
Richman, the 2013 winner of the event, was second behind Holland's Kevin Langeree. Spain's Liam Whaley finished third in the three-man final that took place in 30-knot winds.
The final took place in front of 9,000 spectators on Feb. 6.
The runner-up finish was Richman's third time on the podium for the event -- he was third in 2016.
Richman also won the Mystic Most Extreme move of the event, winning $1,000.
