LAHAINA ARTS SOCIETY MEET THE ARTISTS
Lahaina Arts Society will feature the work of two Maui artists this month with receptions to meet the artists from 6 to 8 p.m. At the LAS?Old Jail Gallery in the Old Lahaina Courthouse, located below ground, featured artist Blake Hill will present his photography on metal, which features the beautiful magical flow of lava from Hawaii Island. At the LAS Banyan Tree Gallery located on the first floor of the courthouse, featured artist Marisela Bracho will feature her work of acrylic paintings, digital collage prints and her poetry book, "Water Kiss," written, designed and illustrated by Bracho. Acclaimed guitarist, singer and composer Makana will perform a benefit concert at 7 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku for Hui o Na Wai 'Eha, a community-based non-profit seeking to restore and protect stream flow to the four rivers of Na Wai 'Eha (Waikapu, Wailuku, Waiehu and Waihee) and to ensure Maui's water is maintainted as a public trust resource.
