Neelam Chandoke, born and raised in India, and devoted mother of Megha and Rick Chandoke, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2022, at her home in Wailuku. Neelam was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully departed. Neelam is survived by her brother, S.P. Victoria “Ms. Vickie” Torres, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home and surrounded by all of her loved ones, on August 8, 2022. She graciously began her mark on this world on March 4, 1935 in Lahaina, Maui. Her proudest accomplishment was her title of “Mom, Mama, grams and Ms. Vickie”. Mae Kimiko Taketa, of Wailuku, passed away on August 12, 2022 at her home. She was born on September 14, 1927 in Paia. After raising her children, she worked at Kato Dry Goods and Peggy’s and Johnny’s. Her hobbies included sewing and doing craft work. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of them.
