Susan Thurman, 78, of Kihei, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2021 after prolonged illness. Sue spent most of her life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before retiring to Hawaii with her husband, Alan. After graduating from Brentwood High School, she continued her studies at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating in 1964. Sue began her professional career as an English teacher at Taylor Allderdice High School. She was a published freelance writer and volunteered as a dolphin trainer at the Pittsburgh Zoo Aquarium. He worked at Garrett Ai Research (Los Angeles, CA) and Boeing (Haleakala).
