Pearl A. Lai, 89, of Kahului, passed away on December 28, 2020 at her family’s home in Kahului. She was born on November 30, 1931 in Honolulu. Pearl worked as a legal secretary. She is survived by her children: Christopher W. (Patty) Lai, Lori P.Y. (Gordon) Kwock, Rhonda I.L. (Wendell) Loo, and Jade P. (Brian Kang) Lai; sisters Gladys Yamanaka, Ethel Wong, and Shirley Ishikawa; and 1 granddaughter, Grace M. (Scott) Swartz. Funeral Services will be private. Mae Omuro, 85, of Wailuku, Maui passed away on September 4, 2020, at her home surrounded by her children. Mae was born in Pu‘unene, Maui, to Harold and Teruko Fujimoto. She was a 1953 graduate of H.P. Baldwin High School and attended Wisconsin University. She also earned an MEd from Indiana State Teachers College. Mae worked for the State DOE for 34 years and was a dedicated teacher who was encouraging, caring, and always striving for excellence. Richard Lei Kaaihue, 84, of Kihei and formerly of Napili, passed away on December 18, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 17, 1936 in Lahaina. Richard worked as a weather technician for Maui Land and Pine. He is survived by his niece and caretaker, JoAnn DeLima; brother, Joseph Kaaihue of Waimanalo; sisters, Louisa K. Artates of Pukalani, and Evelyn Haunani Farias of Honolulu; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Jan Apo for his support and compassionate care of Richard.
