Shintoku "Shin" Arakawa, 95, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2019, at his residence.  He was born on October 29, 1924 in Puunene, Maui. As a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic for H.C. & S. Co., he enjoyed his golden years playing ukulele with his "ukulele gang" and watching sports. Virginia A. Espejo, 67 of Kihei, Maui passed away on November 22, 2019 in Oahu. She was born to Alfonso and Mercedes Agtarap on August 11, 1952 in Laoag City, Philippines. Karen is survived by her husband, David; son, Joshua; mother, Yukiko; sister, Kim (Jason Mitnick) Murakawa, and niece, Lauren Mitnick. Karen worked for the Hawaii State Judiciary for nearly 29 years, most recently as Court Administrator II. She was an active member of Joyful Community Church Maui.
