James "Barney" Mamoru Itamura, 91, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2019 at Roselani Place. He was born on November 6, 1927 in Hamakuapoko to Seiichi and Kazue Itamura. Barney is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Dickie; grandchildren, Kelsi, Kristi, Kari and Ryne; 3 great-grandchildren; brother David Itamura; and sister Mae Hirata. Masayo Ono Matsui, 89         

Masayo Ono Matsui was born on January 19, 1930 in Pu’unene, Maui. She passed away peacefully on May 23, 2019 at Hale Makua, Kahului. Masayo was a teacher for the Department of Education at Paia School, Makawao School and Kahului School for many years. She is predeceased by her husband, Izumi “Shine” Matsui. Masayo is survived by her daughters: Jill Matsui Peterson and Kara Harber (James). Winifred Satsuki Nagoshi, 97 of Wailuku passed away on June 12, 2019. She is predeceased by her husband, Noboru Nagoshi and survived by; her sons, Floyd (Sharon) Nagoshi and Kelvin Nagoshi, her daughter, Joy (Ronald) Iwamoto, sister, Edith Omuro, granddaughter, Nicole( Pete Ikaika) Galicinao, great-grandsons: Jai, Aison, Cruz, and Tide Galicinao. Juanita Samudio, 94, of Lahaina passed away peacefully at home on July 3,2019. Juanita was born in Bakersfield, CA and moved to Maui in 1980. She worked at various restaurants on Front Street and for the Kapalua Land Co as a landscaper. Juanita loved watching football on Sundays and was always rooted for her favorite team the 49rs. Kazuto Takahashi, 102, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2019 under the passionate care of Hospice Maui and loving family by his side.
