Haruye Imai, 94, of Wailuku, passed away on January 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1923 in Paia. Private services were held. Haruye is survived by her son, Jerry Imai; daughters, Janice (Ronald-deceased) Kitagawa, Sharon (Raymond) Otsubo, Sharleen (David-deceased) Toyama, Aimee (Melvin) Arakawa; brother, Yuji (Lynn) Toyota; sisters-in-law, Sachi Toyota, and Yoshiko Fujiwara; 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Islands Hospice for their compassionate care of Haruye. Ballard Family Mortuary assisted with the arrangements.

Esther Marie Rappley, 93, of Makawao, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 in Wailuku. She was born on April 27, 1924 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Private services were held. She is survived by her longtime companion, Vince Bunio; children, Kerry Rappley, Christie Rappley; pre-deceased by son, Danny Rappley; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Kaahumanu Church, Wailuku. Felix Basques Yagin, 104, of Kihei, Maui went home to the lord peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2018. He was born on October 21, 1913 in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, one of three boys and three girls to parents Marcelo Yagin and Maria Basques. He immigrated to Hawaii at the age of 33 in 1946 to work under contract for Del Monte Corporation on the Island of Molokai as a laborer for 29 years and retired at the age of 62. Lorraine Emiko Yamane, 77, of Makawao, Maui formerly of Honolulu, passed away on December 16, 2017, in Waimanalo. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker. Preceded in death by husband, Theodore Toshio Yamane, she is survived by her daughters, Lianne (Wayne) Suzuki and Janice (David) Yamane-Hokama; brother, David Tanaka; a nephew and two step-grandchildren.
