Alan Takeda, 69, of Kahului died Friday, November 24, 2017 after a short illness. Alan was born on June 5, 1948 to Henry and Rose Takeda in Wahiawa, Oahu. He was a graduate of Leileihua High School and the University of Hawaii. He moved to Maui after serving in the U.S. Army, and worked in a variety of fields, including computer and office machine repair, telecommunications on Haleakala, and various social service organizations. She was born February 22, 1922 in Durham, North Carolina. Kitty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Thompson Jr. (Jim). Gary Mitsuru Toyama, 70, of Kahului, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2017, under the care of Islands Hospice and his loving family. Services were held privately.
