Helen Mae Schouten, 80 of Kihei, passed away on October 1, 2017, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on January 17, 1937, in Portland Oregon. A memorial will begin at 3:30pm on Friday October 6, 2017 at Kalama Heights, 101 Kanani Road. Helen moved to Hawaii in 1957 and was a retired computer programmer at the blood bank of Hawaii. Annette Mary Panos, 52, of Waikoloa, Hawaii, was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 26, 1963, and passed away on August 25, 2017. She is survived by son Anthony Palladino of Maui; sisters Barbara Brandt of Maui; and Evy Hargis of Madison, Mississippi. Memorial services will be held October 6, 2017 at Charlie Young Beach, Kihei, Maui at 9:00 am.

Keiji Ushiro of Monterey Park, California was born in Wailuku, Maui, HI and at the age of 82 passed away peacefully with wife and daughter by his side on September 17, 2017. He is survived by his beloved Ohana, including devoted wife, Irene S. Ushiro; loving daughter, Tanya (Eric) Watanabe; caring sister, Setsuyo Munemitsu; as well as multiple generations of nieces, nephews and other relatives on the mainland and in Hawaii. Dorothy T. Almeida, 97 of Olinda passed away on September 7, 2017. She was born in Haiku, Maui. Dorothy worked for many years at Libby Pineapple Cannery in Pauwela and later retired from Kula Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph Church in Makawao on Saturday, October 7, 2017 with visitation from 9:00am-11:00am. Haruo Arisumi, 90, of Lahaina passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 at his residence. Services honoring Mr. Arisumi were held privately. Haruo was born on April 16, 1917 in Lahaina to Kanichi & Shino Arisumi. After graduating from Lahainaluna High School in 1935, Haruo proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon his return, Haruo began working at the Pioneer Mill, where he retired after many years of service.
