Joan L. Minkler, 79, of Makawao, Maui, passed away on September 11, 2017, at her home under the care of Islands Hospice, with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 27, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joan is survived by her sons, Marc (Eileene) Minkler, Christian (Loyette) Minkler, Daniel (Diann) Minkler; grandchildren, Kyle, Brooke, Mia, Michael, Jacob, Matthew; and great grandson, Jet. Eleanor Onaona Motooka, 79 of Kihei, Maui was born on March 10, 1938 in Hana, Maui. She moved to Oahu for 19 years and later returned home to Maui in 1978. She passed away on September 10, 2017 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She worked at Kamalii Elementary as a Teacher’s Aide for 8 years and Hale Makua as a Nurse’s Aide for numerous years.
