Vincent “Vince” Paiva Jr, 65 of Pukalani passed away December 9, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice Maui.  He was born in Wailuku on March 16, 1951. A Memorial Service will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 9:00am-11:00am with a prayer service at 11:00am. Steven Walsh died on December 17, 2016 under the care of Maui Hospice. He was born on December 26, 1950 in Omaha Nebraska. Steven was co-owner of Kihana Nursery. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Genevieve Walsh. He is survived by his wife, Laureen; daughters Seana, Megan and Kaitlin; son, Kevin and his wife Illaly; grandchildren, Emma, Asher and Caius; brothers, Gerald Jr. and wife Dorothy, Scott and wife Mildred; sister, Colleen Walsh; loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Anna Aikala Lowery, 74, of Kihei, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2016 with her loving husband by her side. Services honoring Mrs. Lowery will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Nakamura Mortuary, with visitation scheduled to begin at 1:00pm, and service at 2:00pm. Donald O. Gross, 83, Born 21 Nov  1933- 29 Dec 2016. Born in Oliver Springs, TN.  Graduated  from Oliver Springs High School. After working with a construction company where he met his future wife, Wilma L Inman, he joined the Air Force and served his country for 28 years before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.  His last assignment found him at Hickam AFB. He retired in Hawaii where he lived on Maui.  While in the military, he was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a council member and helping his boys while they were scouts. Michael Arnold Gunn, 60, of Napili, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at home.  Born on September 27, 1956 in Pasadena, California to Arnold and Marjorie Gunn, he lived most of his life on Maui, where he came to surf in 1976 and never left. Rita Cabral Leval, 87 of Wailuku, passed away on December 22, 2016 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1929 in Puunene, Maui. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017, at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku.
