Maui County Bar Association attorneys collect food and cash for food bank
The Maui County Bar Association collected food and hundreds of dollars in donations for the Maui Food Bank at a food drive Nov. 22 at Wai Bar in Wailuku.
“This event was a good example of the kind of projects we love to do,” said Damir Kouliev, association vice president and president-elect. “Whether through philanthropy and their practice of law, many of our member attorneys share a passion for bettering the community, and our camaraderie makes it fun.”
The food bank dropped off and picked up a donation barrel for the drive.
Kouliev and other bar association attorneys staff the Self-Help Center at Hoapili Hale, the state courthouse in Wailuku, to provide free legal information to people representing themselves in District and Family court civil matters. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.
