Holiday party to raise funds for scholarships

Maui High School graduate Emily Mitra received one of the first Construction Industry of Maui scholarships in 2018. She will graduate next spring with a bachelor’s degree in construction management. After graduation, Mitra plans to return to Maui and buy and renovate existing structures to limit large developments, incorporate eco-friendly designs and construction methods and hire former inmates to transition them back into the workforce. — Photo courtesy of the Construction Industry of Maui

Tickets are now available for the Construction Industry of Maui’s annual holiday party from 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea.

The event will raise funds for scholarships that benefit Maui students who plan to work in the Maui construction and design industry.

Recipients of the scholarship must graduate from a Maui high school and be entering a two- or four-year degree program in construction, engineering, landscaping or other design fields. Applications for the scholarship will be available in February and awardees will be notified in late May.

Tickets for the fundraising dinner are $200 for members and $250 for nonmembers. A table of eight is $1,500 for members and $2,000 for nonmembers.
