County earns AA+ bond rating
Maui County has received a AA+ rating from Fitch Ratings, the second highest rating a debt issuer can receive, announced Mayor Michael Victorino.
“This excellent credit rating means that Maui County can save taxpayers millions of dollars on interest costs when borrowing money at a low interest rate on the bond market,” Victorino said in a news release.
The Fitch Ratings report says the AA+ rating “reflects the county’s strong revenue profile, adequate spending flexibility and excellent operating performance.”
