Mahalo concert at Kihei Charter School

The classic rock and country music band Kaina Kountry will perform at Kihei Charter School’s “Mahalo to the Community’’ holiday concert Dec. 28.

South Maui Learning Ohana will host its “Mahalo to the Community” holiday concert 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 28 at Kihei Charter School, 650 Lipoa Parkway, Maui Research & Technology Park, for appreciation of support and a successful first year at the school.

Admission at the door is $5 and children 12 and under will be admitted for free. Food will be offered by a number of food trucks. This is a casual beach mat and beach chair event. Attendees are encouraged to bring comfortable seating or a mat to sit on.

Classic rock and country band Kaina Kountry is performing at the event, as are YUNGJAME$ and Tanama Calibri. The emcee for the evening will be local comedian Chuck Thompson.

Street parking is free and a brief walk to the lawn party.

“We worked with the community and our volunteers for 22 years to realize our vision of an exceptional high-performing education program for the youth of Maui,” said Gene Zarro, CEO of the South Maui Learning Ohana. “Now is the time to say mahalo and celebrate the holiday season together.”

Kihei Charter School serves students in grades K-12. It is a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) school.
