Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua gives care packages to team members

In an effort to share aloha with resort employees, The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua prepared and distributed care packages of fresh food May 17 to its more than 600 team members.

The care packages — decorated with spirited messages like #kapaluastrong — included chicken, SPAM, pasta, produce and more from partners like VIP Foodservice and others.

West Maui’s Hua Momona Farm, which supplies microgreens for the resort’s restaurant, donated carrots and beets that were harvested and prepared by farmers alongside volunteers from The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.

Surfing Goat Dairy, a vendor of the resort, donated its specialty cheeses and biscotti for employees and their families to enjoy.

The resort’s Executive Sous Chef Meredith Manee shared some of her favorite recipes for breakfast fried rice and more.

To continue the cycle of giving, the resort also collected more than 1,500 cans of donated canned goods and monetary donations from team members for the Maui Food Bank.

Earlier, The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua answered a call from the Maui Food Bank to provide 12 cases of personal care items such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and shaving kits.

“During these unprecedented times of social distancing, it’s vitally important that we remain connected as one community and one ‘ohana,” said Andrew Rogers, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. “We wanted to share our aloha by giving back to our team members and let them know that together — we are Kapalua strong.”

Starting at $4.62/week.
