2 Hana High School seniors receive $2,000 scholarships
Two Hana High School graduates have been awarded $2,000 each, a laptop and a Patagonia backpack by the Kukui Malamalama Scholarship program. The scholarship award is administered by Hana Maui Trust.
The Kukui Malamalama Scholarships are funded by local residents that are interested in seeing more of our students continue their education after high school.
This year’s recipients are Kanale Kekahuna-Opiana and Makenzie Lokahi Pu.
Kekahuna-Opiana will be attending Western Oregon University and majoring in business administration and pre-law.
Pu will be attending Seattle Pacific University to study nursing.
Six schools are participating in the Kukui Malamalama Scholarship program: Hana High School, Molokai High School, Lanai High School, Ke Kula Niihau School, Waianae High School and Kahuku High School. The award goes to two students of good character who want to continue their education after high school.
