Kihei Public Library branch manager Tracy Latimer shows off one of the ukulele Friday that the library now has available for patrons to borrow. Latimer said the library has a dozen of the plastic Kala Waterman ukulele to loan out. She said the instruments, which are good for taking to the beach, come with an instruction booklet and an electronic tuner. They can be signed out for three weeks and when they are returned, “We’re going to sanitize the heck out of them,” she said. The ukulele, which are available at all Maui libraries, were provided and donated by the Hawaii State Public Library System and the Music for Life Foundation.

Starting at $4.62/week.
