5 cases reported in Maui school complex

Four students and an employee in the Baldwin-Kekaulike-Maui Complex tested positive for COVID-19 this week, the state Department of Education announced in its weekly case count.

Two cases were students from the same household and were reported Friday; another student case was reported Feb. 20 and an employee case on Thursday. One off-campus student case was also reported Monday.

The report does not specify the schools.

Since June 26, the Baldwin-Kekaulike-Maui Complex has had 35 total cases, according to the DOE. The Hana-Lahainaluna-Lanai-Molokai Complex did not have any new cases this week and has seen a total of 44 since June 26.

A total of 15 cases were reported among DOE students and staff this week, with 10 on Oahu — including one student who hadn’t been on campus all school year — and none on Kauai or Hawaii island.

Starting at $4.62/week.
