Maui AgFest kicks off today with livestock show, entertainment
The Maui AgFest and 4-H Livestock Fair kicks off from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Admission is free, while parking costs $5, according to a news release Friday. All of the main events are returning, including the Maui Legacy Farmers Pancake Breakfast, Grand Taste, the Keiki Zone, Maui 4-H Livestock Show and Auction, Grown on Maui Farmers’ Market and Ag Education, in addition to food booths and trucks.
The schedule of entertainment at the main stage is as follows.
• 8 a.m. to noon: Judging and showmanship at the Maui 4-H livestock tent.
• 10 a.m.: Alaka’i Paleka.
• 10:10-10:20 a.m.: Mayor Michael Victorino welcomes attendees.
• 10:25-10:45 a.m.: Maui Taiko.
• 10:50 to 11:50 a.m.: Small Kine — United States Air Force Band. Giveaways will also take place.
• Noon to 1:30 p.m.: Kamaka Kukona, Halau O Ka Hanu Lehua. There will also be giveaways and a Keiki Passport drawing.
• 12:20 p.m.: Maui 4-H Livestock Show — Club Parade.
• 1 p.m.: Live auction begins at the Maui 4-H livestock tent.
• 1:45-2:15 p.m.: Watermelon-eating contests, keiki and adult; giveaways; and Keiki Passport drawing.
• 2:20-3:20 p.m.: Small Kine – U.S. Air Force Band; giveaways; and Keiki Passport drawing.
• 3:30-4:30 p.m.: Nuff Sedd.
• 4:30 p.m.: Alaka’i Paleka, thank you, goodbyes and Hawai’i Aloha.
In the Keiki Zone, there will be party zone bouncers along with trucks and tractors from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will also be Keiki Zone Passport and prize drawings and entertainment from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Entertainment by Cirque Jolie and Brenton Keith and His Bag O’ Tricks will include balloons and glitter tattoos from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., stilt walkers from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and magic shows from noon to 2:30 p.m.
