UH-Maui’s redesigned Pa‘ina Market now open to the public
The Maui News
The University of Hawaii Maui College has unveiled its newly named and newly modernized Pa’ina Market, a place where culinary arts students feature their cooking to the public.
The market is open from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Monday through Thursday. It is closed on Fridays and on UH holidays.
“We’re all excited to be fully open again,” Chef Instructor Noel Cleary said in a news release Monday. “The students are so energized. They love serving the public as well as our UHMC ohana.”
In addition to entrees, there is also a full salad bar, soup and a hot foods bar with offerings such as teriyaki chicken, stir-fried vegetables and rice. There are also burgers, along with pastries that are prepared by the baking students.
The “World Plate” culinary class will offer Mediterranean-inspired food through Thursday.
There will then be Southeast Asian-inspired dishes through Oct. 10.
The class switches from World Plate to Paniolo Grill the following week and will be preparing deli-style sandwiches and salads to order starting Oct. 18.
Paniolo Grill will be open during regular Pa’ina Market hours through Dec. 6, which is the last day of service for the semester.
Menus as well as service days and hours are subject to change.
