Ripening persimmons on the tree in Kula

Reminiscent of New England fall foliage, the fall colors of Kula include persimmons ripening on ancient trees with their leaves turning orange. These fruits were photographed last week at Hashimoto Persimmon Farm on Pulehuiki Road. The family-run farm is currently selling fresh persimmons and a variety of related products as part of its two-month busy season. The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Nov. 30.
