Albitz elected chair of business board

Mary Albitz, owner of Island Art Party, a paint and sip studio in Kihei, has been elected chairperson of a statewide small business board.

The state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism on Thursday announced the new officers for the Small Business Regulatory Review Board for fiscal year 2024 to 2025.

Robert Cundiff, principal of Lokama Group, will serve as vice chairperson, while Jonathan Shick, who works for Pono Consulting Group LLC, will serve as second vice chairperson. Both are from Oahu.

Other board members include Nancy Atmospera-Walch, Stanford Morioka and Tessa Gomes of Oahu; Garth Yamanaka and James (Kimo) Lee of Hawaii island; and Will Lydgate of Kauai.

The board oversees rules and regulations for Hawaii small businesses and meets at 10 a.m. every third Thursday of the month. Meetings can be accessed via Zoom.
