Rodeo competitor and U.S. Army Reserve veteran Chuck DeCoite carries the U.S. flag during Sunday afternoon’s 4th of July Makawao Stampede Grand Entry at Oskie Rice Arena in Olinda. “I’m honored to carry the flag,” DeCoite said. “It makes me proud.” This year’s event featured new grandstands lining the arena, as well as a large video screen to show interviews and replays of the rodeo action. The annual three-day event wrapped up Sunday.
