Several rural zones and one residential zone in Lahaina reopened on Monday.
Maui County lifted disaster restrictions for Zone 1D, which covers a large rural swath mauka of Wahikuli neighborhoods up to Keawe Street; Zone 10F, which covers a small rural area near Kelawea Mauka Makai Park and the road accessing the bypass; and Zones 14E, 15B and 15C, rural areas south of the Lahaina Recreation Center.
Zone 5G, which includes housing developments along E Kuu Aku Lane, also reopened Wednesday only in areas not affected by the fire. Supported reentry for residents in fire-affected units is expected to be held next week, the county said.
IDs will be required to enter Zone 5G for units not affected by the fire. The property manager will confirm the IDs of property owners at the entry point.
