The Maui County Department of Finance Accounts Division was recently recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for excellence in financial reporting.

According to the county, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was based on the county finance department’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2024.

The panel found the report showed a “constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.”

“This award showcases our County of Maui employees’ commitment to integrity and transparency,” Mayor Richard Bissen said in a news release. “Mahalo to Finance Director Marcy Martin, the Accounts Division and the entire Finance Department for serving their community well.”
