The public is welcome to join the Hongwanji Buddhist Temples of Maui in a free interfaith celebration of Peace Day.

The celebration will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Makawao Buddhist Temple, 1074 Makawao Ave. The day will feature Peace Day activities, including the folding of origami cranes, meditation and refreshments.

The interfaith gathering includes Hawaii cultural practices, the Buddhist community, Jewish community, Christian community, Bahai faith community and spiritual practices community. Parking will be available at the Temple grounds in Makawao.
