Football roundup: KS Maui, Baldwin, Molokai and Seabury Hall secure wins

Kamehameha Schools Maui’s defense held the line and helped secure a 36-0 win against Lahainaluna on Saturday at Sue D. Cooley Stadium.
The Warriors defense held the Lunas scoreless with Lunas rusher Kyle Thomas running for 41 yards on 12 carries and quarterback Leka Rosenthal amassing 8 yards in passing.
KS Maui running back Zedekaiah Campbell ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Running back Nakoa Pau ran for 81 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Kekoa Keau-Davis threw for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
With a 3-0 record, KS Maui is ranked first in Division II in the Maui Interscholastic League, followed by King Kekaulike High School.
Lahainaluna remains in first place in standings in Division I with a 2-1 record, followed by Baldwin High School and Maui High.
Kamehameha Maui will meet King Kekaulike High at 7 p.m. Friday at King Kekaulike High School.
Baldwin High School and Lahainaluna will play Saturday at Sue D. Cooley Stadium in Lahaina.

Seabury Hall storms Hana
Seabury Hall defeated Hana 41-0 Saturday as the Spartans celebrated homecoming and improved to 3-0 in Maui Interscholastic League eight-man football action.
Seabury Hall controlled the game throughout all four quarters. Senior QB Carson Hollifield put the Spartans on the score board with a 10-yard run in the first quarter. Senior running back and place-kicker Taylor Hammer kicked the extra point, and Seabury was up 7-0.
In the second quarter, Seabury scored two more times with a 90-yard run from senior Liam Dunne and a 20-yard pass from Hollifield to Jack Brown, also a senior.
Hollifield also ran for another TD and threw a 15-yard TD pass to Hammer in the third quarter.
Seabury senior Reef Lombardi capped off the scoring with a short run with 49 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
On defense, Brown and senior Peter Ruesegger each recorded an interception and junior Cash Driftmier had two sacks.
Hana (0-3) will celebrate its homecoming next week against Lanai (0-2) while Seabury plays away against Molokai (2-0).

Baldwin defeats Maui High
Baldwin scored three touchdowns in the second quarter of a Division I MIL football game and won 35-14 over the Maui High on Friday.
In the second quarter, Baldwin’s Max Kushi ran for a 78-yard touchdown, followed by rusher Kaeaea Kealoha’s six-yard scamper and receiver Cooper Watkin’s 15-yard catch.
In the fourth quarter, Kealoha ran for three yards and a touchdown, and Hiilawe Han caught a 10-yard pass to score against Maui High.
Baldwin rushers Brayden Viloria ran for 158 yards in 12 attempts and Kaniela Gragas, 97 yards in 15 attempts, to contribute to the running game.
The Sabers Reno Vaka threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns.

Molokai slips by Lanai
The Molokai Farmers held strong in the fourth quarter and slipped by Lanai 14-12 in eight-man MIL football.
Molokai’s Keith Gloor-Suafoa caught a 60-yard pass from quarterback Tyson Tamanaha for a touchdown in the second quarter.
Gloor-Suafoa ran for 25 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and the team converted a 2- point pass after the touchdown.
But it didn’t end there. Lanai’s Jake Ropa scored on a one-yard run and a 3-yard pass in the fourth quarter. However, Lanai failed to convert its extra-point attempts and lost by two points.
