Hawaii gas prices have gone down in most areas over the past week, according to AAA Hawaii.

As of Thursday, the statewide average price for regular unleaded was $4.47, which is two cents lower than last week and 12 cents lower than this time last year.

The average price in Kahului was $4.45, which is six cents lower than last week and 18 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average regular price was $4.97, while Honolulu paid $4.39 per gallon on average. The national average was $3.11.

AAA Hawaii attributed the drop to lower oil prices worldwide.
