Protect Kaho’olawe 50th dinner Nov. 22
A special benefit dinner honoring the legacy of Protect Kaho’olawe ‘Ohana and the Kaho’olawe Island Reserve Commission is scheduled for 5 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Makena Golf & Beach Club’s Hale Pili in Waipao, Honuaula.
This year’s dinner marks the 50th anniversary of the ohana’s efforts to unite communities in celebration of Kanaloa Kahoʻolawe.
Attendees will enjoy an evening of storytelling, live entertainment and cuisine. The program will recognize the individuals from the first landings on Kahoʻolawe in 1976, who sparked the movement to end military bombing and reclaim the island for cultural and environmental healing.
Tickets are available for $200 and can be purchased at Makenainfo.com/i-ola-kanaloa-2025.
