Community invited to native planting workshop Dec. 7
A free community workshop focused on planting native species will be Dec. 7 in Makena as part of Kīpaipai Maui’s three-part Pilina ʻĀina series.
Presented with ʻĀina Archaeology and the Mākena Golf & Beach Club’s ʻŌiwi Resources & Stewardship Department, the hands-on session will be from 3-5 p.m. Dec. 7.
Participants will plant native species propagated during the first workshop and learn how place-based planting supports ecological and cultural restoration in Honuaula. Directions to the site will be provided after registration.
